"The fruit hails from a single vineyard at the southern end of the region. After fermentation, the wine spent a year maturing in French oak, 15% of which was new. A deep maroon hue here, with notes of licorice, blackberries, spices, cloves, black olives, warm earth, a flick of oak and pleasing chocolatey flavours, which really come to the fore on the palate. Rich, quite delicious and seriously good value. Good balance, sleek tannins and a persistent finish. This will continue to drink beautifully from now and over at least the next eight years."

"This is beautifully styled and composed with dark plum, ripe cherry, green olive and toasted almond characters on the nose. The palate displays succulent fruit flavours together with fine flow and textured mouthfeel, well supported by layers of polished tannins. At its best: now to 2033."
