Appearance
Light white straw, green hue and brilliant clarity.

Aroma
White nectarine fruits, citrus and lemon curd jump from the glass. Cashew butter notes add further intrigue. Flicks of flint and some oak derived toast.

Palate
Deeply concentrated, fruit characters of lime and grapefruit envelop the palate whilst toasty oak and cashew undertones bring layers and depth to the finish. The maritime site is reflected in a minerality and saltiness which frames the wine. Finely intertwined acidity lifts and connects the parts which come together to form a powerful and memorable whole. A great example of maritime Chardonnay.

Food matching
Baked flathead, fettucine carbonara, Portarlington mussels with white wine sauce.

Vinification
Hand harvested fruit was firmly whole bunch pressed. The juice was racked and gravity fed into our underground barrel hall where natural fermentation occurred in new 20% and older French barrels. The wine was left to unwind and age slowly on its ferment lees to add generosity. After 10 months the wine was racked and filtered prior to bottling in December 2024.

Vintage notes
A mild season in Geelong. Unsettled weather at flowering set small crops. A warm and dry summer led to grapes with full fla vour, high concentration, yet retaining good acidity.

95 Points

It seems to deliver year in and year out. It's the fine acid backbone driving through the stone fruit, citrus and honeycomb flavours, the hint of flint and cedary oak, all savoury and adding shape to the palate. It's refreshing, it offers just the right amount of complexity yet remains such a good drink for today.
