"The flow here is good. So too is the spread through the finish, the mark of a good wine. This tastes as much of blackberry as of blackcurrant, though juicy boysenberry and blueberry fruit characters help to wash it all along and keep the flavours moving. Peppercorn, mint and sweet cedar are all welcome flavours here as well; from start to finish this wine feels in good order."

"From the legendary Coonawarra region, the wine saw extended time in French oak, a significant percentage of it new. Crimson red in colour, the nose gives up aromas of spices, dried herbs, cedar, redcurrants, graphite, raspberries, cherries and also a flick of mint. While seemingly a little more red-fruited than the black fruits normally expected from this region, the palate does see blackberries emerge from the depths. Juicy acidity and fine, if slightly, chalky tannins with very good length and balance. An elegant Coonawarra Cabernet that is enjoyable now, but has a good six to eight years ahead of it. Lingers with persistence."
