"Elegant and complex, the bouquet shows dark cherry, dried herb, earthy mushroom, and nutmeg aromas, leading to a splendidly weighted palate that's succulent and fleshy. Well supported by grainy tannins, finishing persistent and attractively dry. At its best: now to 2032."

"Everyone's a l'artiste in their own way, so why not a deduction for art? And this might qualify? Anyway, it’s a particularly apt wine gift for those who have real artists in their circle of family or friends, which is surely everyone! They enrich our lives and annoy us in equal measure...just like everyone else. Proper pinot that packs a punch befitting its 13.5 per cent and high-country heritage."

"The fruit here hails from a single vineyard in the high altitude Tumbarumba region. It was given a three day cold soak, then a warm ferment for seven days and following that, a further six months on lees. The wine has a deep crimson hue, with a nose offering some savoury and undergrowth notes. Quite a herbal style with hints of animal skins, gamey touches, cranberries and aniseed. A supple texture with very good length, smooth tannins and a lingering finish complete the package. Enjoy over the next two to five years."
